Empowering Equality: Providing Uniforms to students at Santhipuram Govt Junior College
Contributed Uniforms for unprivileged students at Santhipuram, creating a more inclusive environment and addressing their basic needs.
Background
During a visit to the Government Junior College in Santhipuram to assist a poor girl with her enrollment, we observed a concerning situation. Many students, particularly girls, were wearing torn clothes, which highlighted the financial struggles they face. When we discussed the issue with the principal, we learned that while the college has a uniform policy, several students couldn’t afford to buy uniforms or even pay the yearly tuition fee of ₹3,500.
Moved by this, we decided to take immediate action to support these students. After consulting with the principal, we identified students (20 girls and 25 boys) in need of uniforms.
Our Contribution
Helping Hands provided uniforms for students, helping to create a sense of equality and dignity among them. Additionally, we assured the college that we would assist with tuition fees for the students in need.
Impact
This initiative not only addressed a practical need but also uplifted the spirits of the students, giving them the confidence to focus on their education. By taking this step, we’re fostering a supportive environment where students from underprivileged backgrounds can pursue their studies without feeling left out.
Gratitude and Call for Support
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported Helping Hands. Your contributions are instrumental in enabling us to make a positive difference in the lives of these students.
